Hondo EDC and Hondo Downtown Business Association Partner to Launch GLOW
September 16, 2026
HONDO, TEXAS — The Hondo Economic Development Corporation, in partnership with the Hondo Downtown Business Association, is excited to announce the launch of GLOW, a new women’s networking initiative created to bring women together through connection, conversation, and community.
GLOW was developed with a simple idea in mind: networking should feel natural, welcoming, and worth showing up for.
The new initiative will create opportunities for women in Hondo and the surrounding area to build meaningful relationships, expand their networks, support one another, and connect with the local community. GLOW is open to business owners, professionals, entrepreneurs, community leaders, and women looking for new ways to connect and get involved.
Before developing the program, the Hondo EDC and Hondo Downtown Business Association asked women in the community what they wanted from a local networking experience. Their feedback is helping shape GLOW from the very beginning.
Survey responses showed an interest in events that are more than traditional networking meetings. Women expressed a desire for experiences that are social, engaging, welcoming, and provide opportunities to make genuine connections while also discovering new businesses, learning from one another, and having fun.
“We wanted to create something that women are genuinely excited to attend,” said Kaitlynn Jensen with the Hondo Economic Development Corporation. “GLOW is about creating a space where you can walk in, meet someone new, have a great conversation, and leave feeling like you made a meaningful connection. We want each event to feel like an experience, not just another meeting on the calendar.”
The partnership between the Hondo EDC and Hondo Downtown Business Association brings together two organizations that share a commitment to supporting local businesses and creating opportunities for greater connection within the Hondo community.
Through GLOW, the organizations hope to create experiences that not only bring women together but also introduce attendees to local businesses, venues, and organizations throughout Hondo.
“GLOW gives us another opportunity to showcase what Hondo has to offer while creating something specifically centered around connection,” Jensen said. “We want this to be something that grows with the women who participate in it. Their ideas and feedback will continue to play an important role in what GLOW becomes.”
The first GLOW event is currently in the works, with an official announcement and additional details coming soon.
Women throughout Hondo and the surrounding communities are invited to follow along, get involved, and be part of GLOW from the beginning.
This is just the start.
