Overview
The Hondo Economic Development Corporation (EDC) was established in 2004 by a voter-approved 4B sales tax to promote economic growth. Supported by local leaders and funded by sales tax revenue, the EDC focuses on workforce development, community partnerships, and infrastructure projects that benefit Hondo’s businesses and residents.

The EDC Board of Directors - appointed by the City Council - provides direction and oversight for all economic development efforts. They review project proposals, approve incentive agreements, and guide strategic priorities. The board meets monthly to ensure transparency and alignment with community goals.
