Hondo EDC Returns from Texas Downtown Conference with Fresh Ideas and Community-Driven Inspiration
November 10, 2025
Hondo, TX — The Hondo Economic Development Corporation (HEDC), alongside the Hondo Area Chamber of Commerce and the City of Hondo, is proud to announce its successful participation in the 2025 Texas Downtown Conference held last week in Waco. This annual event brings together leaders, organizations, and professionals from across the state who are dedicated to strengthening and revitalizing Texas downtowns.
Throughout the multi-day conference, attendees engaged in educational sessions, hands-on workshops, panel discussions, and valuable networking opportunities with other communities and industry experts. Topics ranged from downtown redevelopment strategies and small-business support to placemaking, tourism, and community engagement—each offering actionable insights for communities like Hondo.
“Our time at the Texas Downtown Conference reinforced how much opportunity exists for Hondo,” said representatives from the Hondo EDC. “We gained new ideas, resources, and inspiration that will help us continue to support local businesses, enhance quality of life, and encourage thoughtful growth.”
By connecting with fellow Texas communities and learning from successful case studies, the Hondo delegation returned energized and equipped with new tools to apply locally. The EDC looks forward to collaborating with community partners to turn these ideas into tangible progress for Hondo’s residents, business owners, and visitors.
