Hondo EDC Brings Business and Community Together at Coffee with the Chamber

January 12, 2026

The Hondo Economic Development Corporation proudly kicked off 2026 by hosting the first Coffee with the Chamber event of the year—and it was a resounding success. With an estimated attendance of 75 community leaders, business owners, and professionals, the event set an energetic and collaborative tone for the year ahead.

While Coffee with the Chamber events are always a great opportunity to connect, the Hondo EDC added a unique and intentional twist by spotlighting local home-based businesses alongside traditional networking. This fresh approach allowed attendees to not only make meaningful professional connections but also experience firsthand the creativity, talent, and entrepreneurship thriving right here in Hondo.

Guests were treated to a wide variety of locally made offerings. Chelci Renae Photography provided complimentary professional headshots, giving attendees an immediate and valuable business takeaway. Poppy Hour Flower Cart brightened the morning by gifting single-stem roses to guests, adding a thoughtful and cheerful touch to the event.

Several local food vendors helped make the morning even sweeter. Hindsight Farm brought an assortment of mini sourdough bagels, freeze-dried candies, and their crowd-favorite chocolate chip cookies. Aken for Bakin’ impressed guests with beautifully crafted macarons, while Becky’s Bakery shared an assortment of classic cookies. Cake by MJ provided delicious breakfast mini muffins, The Cranky Goat showcased their naturally sweetened breakfast muffins made with local honey, and Yours Truly Baked Goods rounded out the spread with gourmet cookies that were a hit with attendees.

Beyond the treats and networking, the event served a larger purpose—demonstrating how the Hondo EDC actively supports local businesses and works behind the scenes to create opportunities for growth, visibility, and collaboration. By providing home-based businesses with a platform to showcase their products and connect with the broader business community, the EDC reinforced its commitment to fostering an inclusive and supportive local economy.

The first Coffee with the Chamber of 2026 was more than just a morning meet-up—it was a celebration of local entrepreneurship, community connection, and the momentum building in Hondo. The Hondo EDC looks forward to continuing this energy throughout the year and creating more opportunities that bring our business community together.
