Hondo EDC Strengthens Regional Workforce Development Connections Through Judson High School Visit

October 29, 2026

The Hondo Economic Development Corporation (Hondo EDC) continues to strengthen regional partnerships and explore workforce development opportunities that support the long term economic growth of Hondo and surrounding communities.

Recently, Hondo EDC Business Development Specialist Kaitlynn Jensen joined regional Business Retention and Expansion (BRE) partners for a meeting hosted by Converse Economic Development Corporation at Judson High School.

As part of the meeting, attendees toured several of Judson High School's Career and Technical Education (CTE) programs, gaining firsthand insight into how students are developing practical skills, receiving hands on training, and preparing for careers in a variety of industries.

Career and Technical Education plays an important role in workforce development by providing students with opportunities to explore career pathways and gain valuable experience before entering the workforce or pursuing higher education. These programs also help bridge the gap between classroom learning and the evolving needs of employers.

For Hondo EDC, participating in regional BRE meetings provides an opportunity to exchange ideas, learn from neighboring communities, and identify strategies that can support local businesses and workforce initiatives.

Building a strong workforce begins with connecting education, industry, and economic development. By fostering these relationships, Hondo EDC remains committed to supporting initiatives that help prepare future generations for meaningful career opportunities while strengthening the region's economic competitiveness.

Hondo EDC extends its appreciation to Converse EDC for hosting the regional meeting and to Judson High School for welcoming attendees and showcasing its CTE programs.

Through continued regional collaboration, Hondo EDC looks forward to identifying new opportunities to support workforce readiness, business growth, and economic development throughout Hondo and Medina County.
